| Cliff
Covington is employed by the Mississippi
State University Extension Service as Area Livestock Agent
serving Southwest Mississippi. Cliff is responsible for
developing and implementing educational programs in agriculture
and natural resources. A 1988 graduate of Mississippi State
University, Cliff holds both a B.S.
and M.S. degree in Animal Science. An active member of both
the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association and the Outdoor
Writers Association of America, Cliff is the outdoor columnist
for the Port Gibson Reveille and a free-lance writer with
articles published in numerous outdoor magazines. Cliff
has received over 50 communication awards, including the
prestigious Mississippi Wildlife Federation 2001 Conservation
Communicator
of the Year Award.
Cliff is an avid outdoorsman
who enjoys hunting and fishing. His personal life reflects
his commitment to the conservation of our natural resources.
He is a life member of both the Mississippi Wildlife Federation
and the Mississippi Bowhunters Association. In addition,
he is a member of Quail Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, National
Wild Turkey Federation, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Quality
Deer Management Association, and the National Rifle Association.
Cliff presently serves on the Board of Directors for the
Mississippi Wildlife Federation and the Mississippi Chapter
of the National Wild Turkey Federation. In addition, Cliff
serves on the committees creating the Magnolia White-tailed
Deer Records Program and the Mississippi Branch of the Quality
Deer Management Association. Cliff is also a 16-year veteran
Hunter Education Instructor and a Licensed Nuisance
Alligator Trapping Agent for the Mississippi Department
of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. In 1998, Cliff was named
the Mississippi Bowhunter of the Year by the Mississippi
Bowhunters Association. A Mississippi native, Cliff and
his wife, Lisa, make their home in Port Gibson, Mississippi.
